League Championships

Prior to 2016, the league established varsity “standards” to determine which athletes would qualify for the “Varsity Finals” meet. Beginning with the 2016 season, the seeding process was changed. Instead of using varsity standards, the league commenced using top performances by age and gender for seeding for the League Championships (formerly Varsity Finals) meet in May, as follows:

  • Laned events (100, 200, 400 and hurdles): Top 9 times in each age group/gender
  • Non-laned events (800, 1600, 3200): Top 12 times in each age group/gender
  • Field events (HJ, SP, LJ): Top 9 marks
  • Relays (4×100, 4×400): Each club is allowed one relay team for each age group/gender, for a total of 8 lanes (the 9th lane will not be used in relays)

VCYTC uses Athletic.net to post meet results and combine results among the teams in the league during the course of the season.
