Hurdles:
Riley Grief (midget boys) broke the midget boys NP record this past weekend. His time was 13.79, beating Ryan McKeown’s record of 13.82 set in 2010.
The other hurdlers had a PHENOMENAL meet as well. In the midget girls, Kaitlyn McKeown, Simone Overbeck, Caitlyn Lombardo, Jada Marshall, and Daniella Rivera all ran their best time of the season. With Kaitlyn McKeown and Simone Overbeck qualified for varsity. In the midget boys, Riley Grief, Evan Freer, Sam Church and Ethan Darden all ran their best time of the season. In the youth girls, Tara McKeown qualified for varsity on her first attempt. Melissa Labnow, Jordann Feinstein, Jillian Smiley, Sara Gunther, Fatima Salah, Megan Berthel Claire Nelson, and Hannah Labnow all ran their best times of the season. Melissa Labnow, Jordan Feinstein, Hana Sugioka and Tara McKeown are now ranked 1-4, respectively, in the county. In the youth boys, Ryan McKeown, Riley Taylor and Matthew Glienke ran their best times of the season.
Gremlin Boys:
Congratulations to Brady Karsten for qualifying for Varsity in the 1600m with a time of 6:50.35. Gremlins did awesome with 35 PR’s and 15 athletes trying new events. Warrior Awards have been earned by the following athletes: Andrew Brady, Brady Karsten, Travis Endicott, Rylan Arndt, James Grandpre, Harrison Hawkins, Turner Hayes, Donovan James, Lexington Leffall, Owen Poytner, Josiah Taylor, Delon Thompson and Ryan Wood.
Bantam Boys:
New PRs and varsity qualifiers – Matthew T. (100M, shot put), Brendan T. (high jump, long jump, 200M), Garrett S. (shot put, high jump), Cole S. (100M), Nelson M. (high jump), Justin M. (400M), Denis L. (400M), Jack H. (100M and Varsity in 200M), Aidan F. (100M), Shane C. (long jump), and Damien N. (Varsity in shot put)
Daniel Appleford, Shae Mackinga, and Michael Hawkins got their “Panther Paw Warrior Awards” for doing all events open to the Bantams! Great job, gentlemen!
Midget Girls:
Francesca Berg, Heather Miller, Sally Lee and Colette Bagan made significant new PR’s in the 100m. Caitlyn Lombardo had a new PR in the Hurdles. Alia Biswas made Varsity in the 1600. Julianna Glienke and Jada Marshal had notable new PR’s in the 800m. Daniella Rivera had PR’s in the hurdles and 100m. Alexandra Jones had a PR in the 400m and long jump. Kaitlyn Mckeown and Jasmine Wright each had PR’s in 4 events. Malak Salah had a PR in the shot. Lexi Bolanos and Simone Overbeck both had PR’s (4’6″) in the High Jump and are co-leaders in the conference for this event.
Youth/Int. Girls:
Youth Girls sweep every hurdle heat including varsity hurdles – Melissa Labnow @ 16.84; Jordann Feinstein @ 16.96; Hana Sugioka @ 17.46; Ryleigh Miller @ 19.23 and Sara Gunther @ 19.62
Brittany Novak wins the 100M with a PR time of 13.19 and as well as the 200m with a time of 27.19; Hana Sugioka takes 2nd in the 400m with a time of 65.57 and Sami Fairweather achieves a PR and places 2nd in varsity time in the 400m with a time of 66.18.
Swathi Samuel finishes 1st in the 400m with a varsity time of 63.50; Kaitlyn Wood takes 1st in the 1600m with a varsity time of 5:51.91 and Nicole Burch takes 2nd with a Varsity time of 5:52.03. Both Kaitlyn and Nicole take 1st and 2nd again in the 3200m with times of 12:21.79 and 12:29.64. Nicole is in 7th grade and this is her 1st year running track!
